It Pays to do Your Research
Whenever I shop, I browse the online stores first and see what they’ve got and also to compare prices so we will know where to go. That will save us time, energy and gas because we already have an idea what we like and where to get it.
I am actually in the middle of checking furniture prices of the different furniture stores here in the city because we need a new bed for the little one. I am currently looking at the ashley furniture prices and so far, so good.
I’ll Get it Done, a Little Bit at a Time
Every single day, I watch the same shows – The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Rachael Ray Show and those makeover shows on HGTV. I get ideas from the latter and I actually have already incorporated some of what I had seen there in our humble abode. There is still much to do, but I am taking it one step at a time.
Yesterday, the show ‘Candice Tells All’ on HGTV had a bathroom makeover. And as always, the makeover was really amazing. She changed the old tub to one of those beautiful clawfoot tubs which made the bathroom really elegant. I just love it. I wish our bathroom was like that. Maybe in the future. Keep on dreaming!
I Have Gigantic Hopes
Can you picture what your dream house is? I certainly can visualize mine: A three-bedroom house with an office, a loft, a patio at the backyard and a medium-sized swimming pool. Not to forget the landscaping with beautiful flowers and a garden waterfall. I don’t really dream of a big house because there are only three of us.
I used to not dream of having a swimming pool though because of those horror stories that I’ve read and heard of kids drowning. My son is only 8-years-old so that is pretty scary for me. But there are already a lot of things that we can do to avoid accidents like installing a mesh pool fence which is really cool.
That is still a dream for now, but I do believe that dreams do come true so I am continuing to dream BIG!
A Chimenea
This is not something you normally see in my home country that is why it really caught my attention when we went to a birthday party of a friend’s son. This was in their backyard. I had to ask her what it was and it is called a Chimenea. With the weather that they have here in the U.S., this is one thing that is commonly seen in their backyards or decks. An outdoor accessory that is a must-have, I should say to keep them warm during night time that they want to enjoy the outdoors.
Seeing it reminded me of my girl scout days. We had bonfires then, but we never use this kind. We just made use of dry woods grouped together and was lit, thus creating a bonfire.
