My Sleep is Now Sound

Six more days and my son and I will be celebrating our first anniversary here in the U.S. It will be the day before Thanksgiving this year and it is simply perfect timing because we do have a lot of things to be thankful for.

I can still remember the sleepless nights I had during our first two weeks here. My internal clock was still adjusting to the new time, thus, giving me difficulty in sleeping. The husband already thought of getting me a white noise maker as his friend suggested to him, but after my friend told me that her sleep got okay in two weeks, I chose to wait. And gladly, I’ve had good sleep after that.

That was really tiring for me, I am thankful that I overcame the problem.

Breathtaking Autumn

As promised, here’s another photo that I’ve taken when we visited one of the tourist spots here in the city, Blue Ridge Parkway. Look at those lovely colors. Isn’t that beautiful? I can’t stop myself from taking photos because they were just so awesome.

We were still in the lower elevation at this time, about a thousand feet. How I wished I had a DSLR camera when we went there and for certain, the photos would have been more sharp and lovely. Well, I will just go back there when I already have my dream camera. Not bad eh!

Better Late Than Never

Always prepared! I was once a girl scout, and I’ve been using that motto ever since. I don’t like rushing and going into details at the last minute. I want everything in order and settled as soon as I can and not wait for the last minute because most often than not, I will mess up.

It’s the same with shopping for gifts. Buying it way before the occasion gives you time to browse more and think more, thus, getting the perfect gift that the receiver will love. But not all of us does it the same way. I know there are people who can’t manage their time well. Good thing that they can always get lovely last minute birthday gifts from the many choices that online stores now offer. If not for that, it could be a mess. Teehee.

I Have Gigantic Hopes

Can you picture what your dream house is? I certainly can visualize mine: A three-bedroom house with an office, a loft, a patio at the backyard and a medium-sized swimming pool. Not to forget the landscaping with beautiful flowers and a garden waterfall. I don’t really dream of a big house because there are only three of us.

I used to not dream of having a swimming pool though because of those horror stories that I’ve read and heard of kids drowning. My son is only 8-years-old so that is pretty scary for me. But there are already a lot of things that we can do to avoid accidents like installing a mesh pool fence which is really cool.

That is still a dream for now, but I do believe that dreams do come true so I am continuing to dream BIG!

French Broad River

We were on top of the mountain with an elevation of 2,000 plus when I took this photo about three weeks ago. That is the French Broad River. It runs through different states like North Carolina, Tennessee and more. I don’t know how long the river is and how far it goes.

But did you notice the color of the leaves? This was a week or two after the start of Fall. It was on a Sunday and the weather was perfect, a very beautiful fall weather. It wasn’t too cold or chilly so the husband decided to take me and my son there. That was the first time that we had seen the place and we were both in awe.

The place was so beautiful with all the fall colors. I’ve taken lots of photos, but I will share them one by one.

My Little Boy is My Pet

I find puppies and kittens cute, but I am not so into them that I want one for a pet. Don’t get me wrong, but I am just a busy mom and it makes me feel like having a pet is something that I will not be able to do justice to. They have needs to be met and I don’t think I would be good at that.

On the other side, I do believe I would do good at being a veterinary assistant. You might wonder why I thought of that. Well, I’ve been looking into jobs lately and Veterinary Assistant Jobs are among those that I’ve stumbled upon. It will not be my first choice for a job though, but if it’s the only one remaining, then, why not? Maybe it will change my outlook on pets.
