He Was A Yakker Then, and Still Doesn’t Know When to Shut Up!
This old phone was my hubby’s family’s phone way back in the 50’s. He actually had a picture taken holding the receiver of the phone when he was a year old as if he was talking to another person on the other line. That was a make-believe photo, but he looks so cute in that one.
I do wonder if small business phone systems were already available at that time. And did they have phone booths back then? Thinking about it now makes me wonder how the phone booths looked then, if there were any. Let me check that online. That would be interesting.
Such a Lovely Quote
This quote was written on a fireplace wall in a hotel here in the city that we visited before Christmas last year. I never had a second thought of taking a photo of it because aside from the fact that it did catch my attention, the quote is really beautiful. Don’t you agree?
And I am now in the state of mind wherein quotes like this really touches me. I am sensitive to quotes and I guess I am being sensitive now. I don’t know. Just feel like being so today. And I really can’t explain the reason behind it. Maybe tomorrow or in the following day, I will be able to figure out and realize what really is wrong with me. We’ll see about that.
My City
Oh boy! How I wish I really have my city. Owning one would make me a multi-billionaire, huh and perhaps the richest in the whole wide world. But oh well, I think that will remain in my dreams. But not with Facebook. LOL. I’ve always been hooked into their apps and the latest craze being Cityville, I didn’t miss it for the world.
The photo below is the screen shot of my city. It’s growing big now with a population of more than 6,000. Can you see the towering buildings or should I say skyscrapers? I am still saving for more skycrapers though. I am just hoping they will not give me new goals wherein I have to use my money so I can go for that skyscraper.
I know I am not the only one that is currently hooked into this game. What can I say? This is one way of killing time and preventing me from being bored. I’ve left the previous apps that I had though, but I do wonder if I will leave my city once their will be a new app by Zynga in the future. Remains to be seen. (“,)
Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head…
Well, literally not. I’ve just been humming the tune and actually singing the song all day today and obviously, I guess you already know the reason why. It’s been raining the whole day. Since last night actually and I wonder when it is going to stop. As per the forecast, we will probably see Mr. Sun around the weekend so meaning, raindrops will still be falling on my head tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
I have nothing to complain about it really since I don’t have to deal with it. I don’t work so I don’t need to go out. But the day has just been too cold for me. My husband said it’s not really cold, but chilly. I am not used to this kind of weather so for me, it’s what I consider COLD.
Anyway, rain is a blessing. As the man on the news said earlier, it is better than snow. Yeah, really! He’s definitely right though I don’t have to deal with snow either. (“,)
Downtown
This was our first tour of the city. My hubby toured as around the next day of our arrival. I was really in awe of what I saw because the surrounding is very far from what we had in my home country. The city is very neat and clean, not to mention, the traffic rules are just awesome. Stop signs and traffic lights are everywhere. We do have towering buildings in our city too, but not as tall as their buildings here.
Below are the photos that I had taken while we were inside the car and going to the downtown area. The first picture shows the tall buildings while the second photo shows the road going to the area. Can you see the mountains in the second photo? The city is surrounded by mountains which remind me of home because our city is surrounded with mountains too. Isn’t that lovely?
